Nico Sachse grew up in Pretoria, South Africa, and studied dramatic arts at the Pretoria Tech. From there, he embarked on a brief acting career that saw him land television parts for the South African Broadcasting Corporation and a season on stage with the Namibian Arts Council. He soon turned his attention to behind the scenes and joined the production team as a Production Assistant; he then climbed the ranks to a first assistant director and now a director.

A member of the Director’s Guild of Canada, Nico moved to Canada in 1994 and is now a Canadian citizen, calling Vancouver his home.
